copenhagen island hotel

The hotel we stayed at in Copenhagen was called Copenhagen Island Hotel. It was so nice, well perhaps some may see too white or too clean, but I like the clean design. And I think after coming from the Jolly st Ermin’s hotel in London, that was supposedly several bills a night, but I personally don’t think it looks so b/c the building is so old an dour room felt very dark and … well old (which I guess it’s suppose to b/c the building’s been around since 18th century),… I digress, anyway, after coming from that to a hotel that in modern day looks it’s price, I was pleasantly pleased. Everything was white, bathroom was modern, big tub, glass countertops, free wireless internet, big bouncy bed, incredible flat screen tv (‘mermaid technology’??) and super yummy breakfast in the morning. So ya anyway, the hotel is built on a man-made island, and inside is all glass and white and wood. I don’t know if I could handle having glass countertops in the bathroom, I’m not neat enough to maintain it, but it was nice living in the luxury of it.

sea day #1

Breakfast stuffing my face
Lecture on Stockholm they only use crowns!!! Mah fan. NOT the same as norweigen or Danish crown.
Laid by the pool – bikini. Paul something mall cop playing on the outside deck while I laid there
Princess theatre way too cold.
Found dawn by pool under the shade.
St Petersburg lecture
Swing dancing is for fools. I’m no fool. Kidding. Just not for me.
Did my nails by pool
Afternoon tea – 2 scones, YUMMY omg clotted cream, jam, DELISH fat fat fat lamb. Delicious tea.
Played on deck 7 like fools. photo shoot that vibe. Practice makes perfect. Seriously. Vanity can screw it. Wouldn’t you rather have pretty shots than ugly mugs? My point exactly. Gotta do what you gotta do when no one is around to take your photo!
Captain’s dinner. Photos on stairs. Photos turned out not so awesome. Hack.
Walked around deck 7. Played carcasone, ate dessert, popcorn, tea, watched he’s just not that into you. About passed out on the chair on the outside deck. Love ‘movie under the stars’

wimbledon

It was the first Sunday after the championships had ended and centre court and no 1 courts weren’t treated back to their original state so when iwas there I got to see the original shape they were in of when the players last touched it. Baselines were completely worn out, could barely see the last white chalk markings… utter fangirl, federer and roddick were the last two ppl playing on centre court! How awesome was that?! They hadn’t even cleared the last Sunday schedule of play.

Apparantly there was a murmur in the press room, after the federer vs roddick match. Should they or should they not? And indeed they did. They clapped for andy when he walked into the room and apparently that was quite taboo as journalists NEVER clap for ANYBODY. How utterly bittersweat the feeling must’ve been as andy walked in. he played an incredible championship and still lost to federer. Quite honestly I think it was his to lose in the end. Damn those unforce errors.

effects

I think this time visiting London whilst walking around the evening with my dad and dawn was realizing noticing the effects of ww2. Not that there were shrapnel shells everywhere, but statues and some monuments on the embankment by the thames had holes gouged out, from bombs that were dropped nearby by the nazis. There were monuments erected in memory of the airmen, soldiers and sailors who risked their lives. Not trying to be sentimental or anything, but I think this time around, and not just in London, that I’ve understood a fuller appreciation of what the wars had meant to the generations past and how it’s shaped the countries affected by it.

as secure as it gets

The hotel we stayed at was located right on the kitty corner of the New Scotland Yard, Buckingham Palace, and some brigade of the queen’s men.

i'm surprised the m5 weren't right in front of us. ooOO then maybe james bond may be around to hang out with...

london shopping

Topshop let me down. Or maybe it was the end to end of females who were also shopping that put me off.

Selfridges > Harrods x 5. It’s opulence and flash is blinding. However one designer brand after another soon melts into one big giant meaningless brand. … except when it’s 50% off and I got some awesome stuff.

Wimbledon’s dope.

Point blank. Wish I could’ve run out onto the grass, rolled around, and sigh with ecstasy, but I think they frown upon that. Something about keeping the integrity of the grass and all…

plumpy plump plump

I think typical English fare will get me fat. It’s potatoes and meat. Two of my favourite food items. Put together and washed down with beer means a plump lambchop.

sketchhhh

Super sketch slightly drunk man taking our photo. Wells sketch. Luckily, I didn’t have to test my running abilities as I did get my camera back.

see that white bag alex is carrying? that's the drunk dude's bag of alcohol! he had him hold it while he had MY camera and insisted on taking our photo. actually he proposed it as 'pay me 20 pence and i'll take your guys' photo!'

quick london thoughts

Do not like Leicester Square. Bunch of hacks walking around peddling tickets for b-rated shows.

Quite stressful and difficult to enjoy one’s time when there are parents to be mindful.

Harrods is still harrods, except when there’s the one sale of the whole year on, Harrods is more like a sadistic tornado of consumerism. Cupcakes were lovely to look at. Couldn’t be bothered purchasing tea. Earl gray from tetly purchased from Costco will do just as fine.

it's about time

ok ok, it's been about 3 weeks since i've been back. time to be a good girl and to get my travel blog back in shape. and b/c it has been so long, bear with me with these posts, moving forward, as they may be quite scattered and heck not even in order... actually oyu know what? it is my blog, it won't be in order. ... cheers
