the thing 'to do' on sundays is to have a sunday roasts and roasts can be beef, chicken, lamb, any choice of meat which is... well it's roasted, and served w/ peas, cauliflower and cheese, roasted potatoes, parsnips, and yorkshire pudding. we almost missed the traditional sunday roast b/c by the time we got to the royal something pub, the kitchen had stopped serving food. devastating piece of news as we were absolutely tanked from walking so much that all we wanted was this roast. we ended up having beers instead... on an empty stomach! that about knocked me out, i think i might've fallen asleep at the table for a minute... we eventually got up and walked around to hackney road ( i think that's the name) and found a pub called electricity showrooms. they still served sunday roasts so we jumped at that chance, unfortunately they were out of yorkshire pudding. a disgrace, cries our my british friends, b/c apparently yorkshire pudding is the best! oh well, hopefully next time i can experience it!
it was a huge meal, heaped w/ food and by the end of it we were exhausted and needed a dessert hit. found a cafe w/ some cakes in the middle and i feasted on a giant piece of chocolate cake. it was a much deserved reward for all the walking we did.
